The FTSE Straits Times Index (STI) is a capitalization-weighted stock market index that is regarded as the benchmark index for the Singapore stock market. It covers 30 Singapore Exchange listed companies which are deemed representative of the Singapore market. It is jointly calculated by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), Singapore Exchange (SGX) and FTSE Group (FTSE).
The primary objective of the index is to reflect the daily trading activity of stocks on the Singapore Exchange (SGX). The STI is value-weighted and covers most sectors.
